Community Service Requirements for Graduation
St. Joseph's is an institution that depends on the community and, in turn, wishes to serve the community. As such, St. Joseph's requires its students to complete a specified number of community service hours each year. A total of sixty-five hours are required for graduation. Community service must be completed within the current school year or the previous summer. Many community service opportunities benefiting the greater Greenville community are announced throughout the year.
Students are expected to communicate with their Household Deans to receive pre-approval on what qualifies as community service and to report completed service hours. A complete listing of each student's service hours is available from his/her Household Dean. At the end of each year, a notice will be given to those students who have not completed their community service requirement.
To ensure accurate record keeping, students are responsible for completing a community service form, having it signed by an adult supervisor, and turning it in to the Household Dean. Forms are available on the school's website under Mission & Ministry.
Completed community service hours required for graduation are as follows:
|Freshmen||10 hours per year|
|Sophomores||15 hours per year|
|Juniors||20 hours per year|
|Seniors||20 hours per year|
SAT/ACT Requirement for Graduation
All seniors are encouraged to have SAT or ACT scores reported to the Guidance Office by December of their senior year in order to graduate from St. Joseph's Catholic School.
